Bioluminescence and Punta Cocos

How to get there and when to go
Holbox is reached from Chiquilá, a small port about a 2 to 2½-hour drive from Cancún. From Chiquilá, passenger ferries make the crossing in around 25 minutes. Leave your car in Chiquilá — remember, no cars on the island.
Best time: the dry season (November–April) for calm weather, or June–August if the whale sharks are your priority. September brings more rain and some seasonal closures.
